QUIGLEY CENTER

7TH + 8TH GRADE STUDENTS

On one of the most memorable weekends of their year, Jhigh students get an opportunity to hear how some remarkable high school students have navigated this faith/life thing and walked through the challenges of growing up.  It's all presented through fun and engaging activities (inflatables, sock wars, smoothies and more) that is a radically different kind of religious experience.

All meals happen on campus. We dance, we play games, we have inflatables, we praise, we pray, we listen to other’s stories from the microphone and in small groups.

Being on team requires a high level of commitment and promises an amazing experience for your efforts. As a part of this team, you are committing to attend all prep meetings and to living a life that prepares me to lead others on retreat.

There is no cost to attend, but it does cost us for you to participate. Please check with your parents and your calendar to confirm that you can attend ALL prep meetings. If you cannot make all, please reach out to Mac.

ALL meetings are mandatory! 2:30-4:15

ALL high school students on the team must be at Holy Trinity by 5pm of Friday of the retreat weekend. Questions? Ask Mac - 763.213.5147

Luke 18 is a parish-based retreat, meaning that it all happens at the parish, and promotes a deep sense of community by bringing together adults and high school students.  Talks and discussion groups are led by junior and senior high school students, creating an environment where youth minister to youth.

Don't miss out on connecting your son or daughter to this community and a weekend they will never forget.  Luke 18 is open to all students in 7th or 8th grade (but only once), even if they are not Catholic or from another parish, so invite a friend!

The retreat begins at 7pm on Friday night and runs through 1pm on Sunday afternoon. All parents should plan to arrive by 12:30pm on Sunday for our closing session and 1pm dismissal. Our final session of the retreat is 5pm Mass.

PARENT roles

Parents:  we need your help to make it happen!

This weekend cannot be a success without wonderful volunteers like yourself. Please let us know what you can help with.  We make it easy!

SLEEP HOMES

As a sleep home volunteer, you will have a group of 7-8 students of the same gender sleep at your house on Friday and Saturday night. The groups are comprised of 4-6 jhigh students and two junior/senior "chaperones". No need to provide any meals - they just sleep and shower. Two adults in the home must be Virtus trained (trainings are available before the retreat) and they must be present at all times that students are home. We also ask that all electronics be unplugged in sleeping area as this is a non-media weekend. If necessary, sleep home volunteers will have help from the transportation team in driving students to and from their house.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation team volunteers are responsible for driving the groups to and from the sleep houses on Friday/Saturday nights and Saturday/Sunday mornings.

FOOD

Our food ministry team assists in making and/or serving one of the 5 meals during the weekend.
